I bought 145 dollars worth of fruit. Two flats of blackberries and two of raspberries. The first flat of raspberries looked great, but the second the woman who sold them to me came from "a different grower" and that is why the raspberries on top looked a little wrinkled. The next morning (12 hours after buying the berries) I found that 25% of those berries were moldly (they were conveniently on the bottom of the pint). I called the owner and he gave me a number to call, and I thought the heck with it. If the owner won't even take care of it, then why call someone else? This morning, 48 hours after I bought the berries, I threw out an entire flat of blackberries. All of the blackberries in that flat were moldly. I wasted 145 dollars. Only half or less of the berries I bought I was able to use for canning. Beware of buying ANYTHING from Bryans Butcher block in West Pasco. If they are willing to sell berries like that, I am wondering if their meat is any good either.
