General Info: Haroldo D. Melo, MD, wanted to be a doctor for as long as he can remember. Watching his mother work as a critical care nurse as he was growing up likely influenced his decision to pursue medicine. He always felt like being a doctor was in him - as if it wasn't really a choice at all, but just something he was born to do. Dr. Melo received his medical degree from Universidad de Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico, completed his residency at Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham, Massachusetts and is board certified in internal medicine. Today, he uses his skills to make sure patients in Port Orange, Florida, get comprehensive, high-quality care at every age and stage of life. With more than 12 years of experience in private practice, he's earned a reputation for listening to and taking his time with every patient he sees. Dr. Melo loves having the opportunity to help his patients feel well in mind, body and spirit - and works hard to also apply those same principles of whole-person care to his own health. An avid cyclist, he keeps his body strong by getting a ride in whenever he's able. And as a father of two, he stays healthy in spirit by spending time with his family. A native of Brazil, Dr. Melo is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English.
