My husband, Jim, is almost 81 years old and in relatively poor health. His teeth were in very poor shape when he first visited Dr Garcia in 2015. Instead of suggesting having his teeth pulled and dentures made, Dr Garcia started rebuilding each of Jim’s teeth and putting on crowns. This was unsuccessful - and $25,000 plus later - Dr Garcia decided all the upper teeth needed to be extracted. There was extended decay under the crowns he had inserted! Jim let him pull all his upper teeth - on one side Dr Garcia also pulled out a portion of the bone and left an exposed hole into Jim’s sinus cavity. On the other side he left the roots in - only pulling the top part of the teeth. Dr Garcia had the upper plate made, which Jim cannot wear and has been back numerous times because it hurts to wear it and it falls out every time he eats. Finally, Dr Garcia admitted to the hole in the sinus cavity and to the decaying root problem. He then sent Jim to an oral surgeon to correct the damage that he had caused (to a tune of $3000 more).

I DO NOT recommend Dr Angel Garcia for anyone, especially trusting, elderly people. Dr Garcia certainly took advantage of Jim, and since Jim was paying Dr Garcia’s bills, the rest of the family was unaware of the extent of what Dr Garcia was doing and how much he was charging. Under the circumstances of Jim’s age, his health, and the condition of his teeth, any reputable dentist would have, at the very beginning, referred Jim to a specialist for removal of his teeth and a good upper bridge inserted. Instead, Dr Garcia just kept on doing patch work and charging an enormous fee until it was evident that he had caused so much damage and that he was incapable of correcting it.
