On Monday May 11th, 2020, my Honda Accord Coupe (2014) was taken to QUALIFIED AUTO BODY WORKS (101-05 94th Avenue, Ozone Park, NY 11416). I received a call on May 17th, 2020 from the police, NOT THE AUTOBODY SHOP stating that my car was stolen. The police stated that I had to come to the shop because the owner of the car had to make a report. At this point I’m thinking it’s a joke because six days had past & I figured that the car was being worked on by then! I was on the way to my job, when I had to call my boss and let her know I won’t be able to make it into work. I called the shop to get a little clarification on the situation, after I asked a few questions, the receptionist CINDY put me on hold & after about ten seconds I was hung up on. I called and got no response. I Arrived to the scene To see the receptionist sitting outside on a chair and workers washing cars. The receptionist Cindy stated that she had my key still in her hand and she didn’t know how this happened. I was informed from the police that the car was being driving over the bridge starting May 14th 2020 AND I WAS INFORMED THREE DAYS LATER. I asked why was my car parked in the street for so long and the receptionist stated that the shop has been busy all week. I therefore asked her ..... “so my car was parked on the street on the 11th, stolen the 13th or 14th & didn’t realize UNTILL THE 17th? She then stated nonchalantly “YUP”. They were so insensitive and didn’t show any sign of empathy. The owner was no where to be found. I WORK IN THE HOSPITAL & I’VE MISSED A NUMBER OF DAYS AT WORK IN THIS PANDEMIC DUE TO THE NEGLIGENCE OF THIS COMPANY
