Luis took 3 months to do a job that should take 3 days. We had him do the soffit, fascia, and gutters on our house, and then 2 sections of board and batten siding. He finished some soffit, then didn’t come for a few weeks. He kept telling us when he’d come, then he wouldn’t show up. When we’d text or call about his absence, he would yell at us on the phone to “let me do my job, quit texting me.” Then for about a month straight he’d come for 1 hour a week and just do hardly any work here and there. After 3 months we just gave up. Eventually he just shows up one day and finishes the job. It wasn’t until we had a painter come give us a bid that we realized he put half the fiber cement panels completely backwards. Some panels were smooth side facing out, others were the textured wood grain side facing out. We now have to hire someone to fix his obvious mistakes. I’ve never done siding, but I know which way is which and would never flip flop the front and back of a siding panel, let alone a bunch of them. We asked Luis for some money back to fix his mistake, but he refused and said he could come back and fix it later. With our 3 month experience for a below average job, the last thing we’re going to do is have Luis come back to finish the shortcut job he did. Luis seems nice, but don’t be fooled because he does dishonest work and never shows up when he says he will.
