We Started smelling urine. Our whole apartment smelled like we were training a puppy who piddled on the floors. Then we smelled stale cigarette smoke in one of the rooms.No matter how much fabreeze we sprayed or how long we aired out the house it still smelled. At this time we also noticed there were fleas in the apartment.I felt that this was unacceptable and figured they could easily fix it by replacing the carpets and using a flea treatment bomb. The manager tried to blame the fleas on us.(We have no pets)She also decided to have the carpets cleaned again because I was unhappy with the smell. Unfortunately cleaning the carpets just pulled more smell up from the padding and made it worse. The fleas still weren't gone and they treated the apartment again. Finally the manager calls an exterminator to get rid of the fleas. My carpets still smell. Now our dishwasher is breaking down and my bathtub won't hold water. And the cabinets under the sinks smell like sewer. The maintenance men are very nice but nothing changes when they come "fix" things. The manager still says the carpet is "too new" to be replaced it was just replaced in 2011 and they want to get 5 years out of it before they replace it. She also basically called us liars multiple times saying that the maintenance men and other employees who had been in they apartment including herself had never smelled anything. So now that it's been cleaned twice and still smells she suggests spraying a chemical called "fire D" that is supposed to remove odors. When that didn't work she decided it needed a pet seal on the sub floors. Basically they remove the gross carpet and padding, put a chemical on the subfloor below to seal odors then put the old carpet and padding back in. I followed the steps she claimed she had to take and allowed them to do the seal. This meant I had to move all my belongings from room to room as they applied the seal. We were also required to be out of our apartment for hours because this chemical is dangerous to inhale. Well for the next two days after the seal was finished my apartment smelled horrible and breathing in my apartment gave me that "tickle" in the lungs sensation you feel when using oven cleaner. Doesn't sound safe to me. That was about a month ago. The manager also supplied us with room deodorizers for each room to cover up the smell. As I sit here on my bed writing this review I still smell dog urine. My dishwasher still doesn't work.

I have lived in Abalon Pointe for 6 yrs. Over the past year there has been recent management changes. The former Manager was horrible and the younger assistant was rude and doesn't allow people to talk... I have gone into the office many times and she seems a little disoriented and sometimes spacy. I wonder if she is under the influence of alcohol or something. I don't know if the owner screens people before hiring but he should.
