I foster dogs for the Wake County Animal Shelter in Raleigh, NC. While visiting my mom here in Ocean Isle with one of our newer fosters, found Seamus woke up and could not place any weight on his right foot. This was a problem being treated by the shelter vets which we thought was completed. I received permission from the shelter to take him to a local vet which had us meeting Dr.Edson and the staff at OIB Veterinary Hospital. Both Seamus and I were warmly welcomed when we walked (hobbled) in. They were very caring and compassionate about poor Seamus. Dr Edson did a thorough exam and recommended a treatment plan which he is immediately on. She also made recommendations I can take back to the shelter vets based upon her exam and followed up with an email that I have forwarded on the the Foster Coordinator and vets at the shelter. Thanks so much for taking us in on short notice!!I know if I lived here, I would have no reservations taking my personal pets to Dr. Edson and the staff at OIB!! .

We were visiting in the area and discovered that our dog, Mallory, had torn a toe nail. It was near closing but the staff indicated they would wait for us to get there and explained there would be an additional fee after hours. We were extremely pleased with the professionalism, compassion and care given by Dr. Courtney and Becka. We felt as if we were at our own vet clinic. Dr. Stuestman was our vet in Hickory, NC and it was quite a loss to our community when he moved. Gary and his staff always went above and beyond when dealing with normal check ups and dealing with the challenges of difficult medical situation. If you are lucky enough to have Gary as your vet I hope you appreciate him and his staff--we lost him in Hickory---

The staff and Dr s at ocean isle vet hospital were very caring and spent all the time I needed to discuss the many concerns I had with my new puppy. I have not owned a puppy in many years and want to give her the best care possible. I believe I have made a great choice with them as they made me feel like I had been coming there for years. I highly recommend them to everyone as that atmosphere is hard to find at times.
