Oakland Planning and Zoning Division is comprised of zoning, major projects and strategic planning. The division focuses on processing development permits and carries out planning processes. It has processed more than 1,200 development permits and answered for over 19,500 telephone inquiries. The division has assisted nearly 15,000 counter visits and specializes in updating the Oakland Planning Code. It staffs project, zoning and strategic planning managers. Located in Oakland, Calif., Oakland Planning and Zoning Division is a part of the City of Oakland, which also operates historic preservation, economic development, information technology, public works and human resource departments. The City of Oakland offers design and construction services.
