Leonard J. Tyl Middle School is a grades six through eight coeducational school located in Oakdale, Conn. It offers courses in various subjects, such as math, English, social studies, science and reading. The school also offers health, ANS physical and special education programs. It additionally provides courses in various other subjects, including music, computers and technology. It also provides transportation, food and guidance services. It additionally offers various athletic programs, including football, basketball, tennis, soccer and volleyball. It also has a media center with a large collection of books, electronic database and online access to various other libraries of the district. The clubs and organizations offered by the school includes young educators society, drama troupe, math counts, math Olympiad, Amistad, and skateboarding, art, chess, dance club, ski and spirit clubs. The school is approved by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
