Dr. Fernandez is committed to helping patients change their lifestyles to reduce their risk of disease. He enjoys being on the front lines of patient care, managing diagnostic and therapeutic challenges with a compassionate, integrative approach that stresses close doctor-patient collaboration.He has a particular interest in treating Lipid Disorders, Hypertension and Diabetes Mellitus. He graduated from the Instituto Technologico de Santo Domingo and received his MD. He then completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, where he expanded his breath of clinical skills.Later, at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, he received an additional year of training in Geriatrics and specialized in complex care of senior patients. In his free time, he enjoys martial arts, squash, cross fit and scuba diving. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and fluent in Spanish.
