Provided by YP.comAfter attending a large church in WLR for years (a wonderful church, full of lots of great people--we have many good memories), we were looking for a smaller, more local church (we live in Maumelle). We began visiting CHBC in late 2012. Right away, we were blessed through their incredible music ministry. Mrs. Mary (Winters--the Pastor's wife) is absolutely amazing with the kids' choir. She's a perfect cross between a drill sergeant and a grandmotherly teacher. I love how down-to-earth Pastor Chuck is. A Vietnam vet, Marine and motorcyclist (member of the Patriot Guard--check them out), Pastor Chuck provides biblical preaching and an occasional political commentary (within the context of a biblical worldview). While I completely agree with him 99.9% of the time, I did privately share with him my disagreement on one issue. We've had several good discussions on that issue, and our relationship is as strong as ever. My 14-yr old son, Drew, plays guitar in the Youth Band, which is entirely composed of, and led by students. Thanks to the Youth Director, Eric Burton, who challenges each member to be a faithful follower of Jesus! Finally, the people are friendly and open. I have a sincere interest in getting to know them, and they have welcomed me with open arms and hearts. And their hearts are big. They really care about the people in the community and around the world. What better measure of caring than giving, going and praying--all of which they do generously.

Provided by YP.comfor the most part, this is a very 'cliquey' bunch, there are some nice folks but you have to have been here a long time to be fully accepted. the youth group is really bad about ignoring newcomers. If you visit maybe your experience will be better than ours. I hope so.
