Very bad experience on discovery day. It was my son's first day at a daycare center, away from parents, so he was cranky and threw up a few times. Also, my son isn't a great eater. After a few hours when we went to see how things are going, the director tells me that my son needs too much attention and the class has 16 kids and the teachers won't be able to give him the attention he needs (sermon about them being a "large group center", yadda yadda). Then she goes on accusing my son of not being "developmentally where he should be at his age" because he kept refusing food the whole time and was not feeding himself. She even went on about suggesting me to check with his pediatrician and see he needs therapy! Seriously? After spending 2 hours or so with him, you complain about him being behind kids his age, just because he was scared and refused food, being away from his parents for the first time? Do these people have any compassion about what my son was going through? Shame on them, calling their center a 'learning place' when they refuse to take responsibility of teaching a 2-year old to feed himself, or even calming down a kid going through separation anxiety. Unregistered my son immediately, who knows how badly they will treat him if I start sending him there.

Great teachers but the parking lot sucks. I have been hit three times and there is enough space for a one lane road. They need to look into that asap

I had my child at the Rogys-Jesu Childrens Enrichment Center in West Peoria. Not only were there instances when I would walk in and see other children beating on my child while the teachers did nothing, there was a teacher there "written up" twice for mentally or physically and still works there. Several children had strep on the bottoms and this went on for months. I took my child out, as did a few people I know. There are some great teachers there, dont get me wrong, and there are some great administrators as well. But there are enough teachers that shouldnt be there to keep me far away. I would look elsewhere for child care.
