Mr. Pica gave me a price of $450 ($300 up front) to produce a drawing that I would need to get a building permit to remove a single load bearing wall on the 1st floor of my ranch home. He said it would take 1.5 weeks to produce the drawings. I stated several times during the 1st visit I did not want the attic joists cut which my wife heard me tell him. He called 1.5 weeks later and said he needed more time because he didn't know how to use a computer. He finally shows up a month later with the drawing. The 1st mistake was he had the ceiling joists oriented wrong, the 2nd mistake he had a second unneeded beam drawn and guess what, he also implemented a design that cut the ceiling joists. He said he would correct the errors and be back in a week. Instead I got a letter for him stating he was keeping my $300 and would not complete the work. Even a demand letter from my lawyer failed to get him to correct his errors. He even had the audacity to want even more money.
