Architect's Inn - George Champlin Mason House
General Info
The Architect's Inn-George Champlin Mason House Bed & Breakfast was constructed in 1873 as the private residence of Mason, the famous Newport architect. Located on Historic Hill, off beautiful Bellevue Avenue, (the historic playground for the rich and famous), this 23-room Victorian mansion offers five graciously appointed guest rooms. Our home is decorated in period furnishings and each guest room is unique. The Architect's Inn enjoys the finest location in Newport, sitting proudly in the heart of the island in a peaceful, residential district surrounded by other stately Victorian mansions. It stands just a three block westward stroll to the cobble stone of Thames Street, three blocks easterly passes you by the famous Cliff Walk and the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean, and three blocks south to the Tennis Hall of Fame and Mansion tours. A Full Gourmet Breakfast is served by the fire in winter and on the porch overlooking the garden in summer. Most of the food is Organic in season. We also cater to persons with special diets such as Gluten-Free, Lactose-Free, Wheat-Free, Atkins, Vegetarian, Vegan, South Beach, Monkey and Kosher foods. We offer complimentary on-site parking. Our wonderful Vacation Packages include in-room massages, champagne, wine, homemade chocolates, mansion tickets and much more. At the time of its completion, the house garnered attention for its intricate exterior woodwork and beautiful interior.
