Located in Newport News, Va., Richneck Elementary School enrolls more than 650 students in grades kindergarten through five and is operated by Newport News Public Schools. It offers a wide variety of academic programs, including reading, art, English, mathematics, science, social studies, music, and physical and health education. The elementary school offers various athletic activities, such as basketball, baseball, cross country, swimming, cheerleading, gymnastics, wrestling, tennis, track, softball and volleyball. It provides a wide variety of facilities and services, including playing fields, transportation, a cafeteria, library, immunizations and lockers. The elementary school also offers various extracurricular activities and student organizations, such as peer tutoring, a parent-teacher association, and environmental awareness and computer programs.
