The first and only supermarket I've ever seen that had a line to get in. It's for good reason though - the prices are cheap, the food is delicious, and it's at the first floor of an NYU dorm. So put on your best college-hipster-dodging gear, and go grab yourself some dinner.

If you're interested in the best prices in NYC (and you don't live near Fairway) Trader Joe's is the place to go for packaged goods. Brand cereals that are over $6.00 in Gristedes or D'Ags are only $2.99 here. Stay away from the produce. Whole Foods is still the place to for that. Don't miss the Smoked Peach Salsa - that alone is worth the trip! If you like Margarita's, try the Lime Fruit Floes - 6 for $1.99 and it's like a frozen margarita (minus the tequila) Whole wheat English Muffins at Gristedes $3.99 but at TJ's, only $1.79. Packaged walnuts, almonds, cashews - the best prices in town! The staff is friendly and helpful although, if you suffer from claustrophobia, stay away. It's a small space and it's always so crowded that you can barely navigate the aisles. If you have the luxury of going weekdays while others are working or in class, this is the place for you & If you're on a fixed income or enjoy a bargain, this is the place for you.If you can avoid the crowds, do.

Love Trader Joe's but they need to regularly re-stock more of the items that are popular (such as the Lobster Bisque). The staff is always pleasant and helpful. Couldnt ask for a better experience. They only didn't get the full five stars because alot of the items I want to purchase are super popular and not always available.
