Your visit to New York won't be complete without a stop at the New-York Historical Society. Four centuries of history, artifacts and art tell the story of America through the eyes of New York.
- General Info
- The New-York Historical Society is New York City's oldest museum and one of the nation's most distinguished independent research libraries. Its holdings cover four centuries of American history, and include one of the world’s greatest collections of historical artifacts and art documenting the history of the United States as seen through the prism of New York. The New-York Historical Society is the only museum in the metropolitan area where you will encounter, year after year, acclaimed exhibitions that are part history lesson and part art exhibition. These shows break new ground in scholarship while they introduce visitors to the beauty, sometimes the darkness, and always the complexity of bygone eras.
