      The mission of the Lyce Franais de New York is to prepare its students to be responsible citizens equipped for the world of tomorrow. To accomplish this, the school relies on the French educational system and culture. Beginning in first grade, French is the main language of instruction, and the school essentially follows the program of the French Ministry of National Education. In parallel, students are provided with a comprehensive and thorough American language and culture program comparable to that of top-level American independent schools. It is the blending of these two programs with qualified teachers dedicated to its mission that distinguishes the Lyce Franais de New York.Our teaching methods reflect both the French standards of intellectual rigor and the American traditions of pragmatism, positive reinforcement, initiative, and creativity. Our students benefit from small classes and assistance to bolster language skills when necessary. This ensures that they can easily enter or re-enter the French and American systems at will.
