- Dental ExaminationLet the compassionate team of dentists and hygienists at Smile Design stay ahead of problems like gum disease and tooth decay. From cleanings and exams to tips for home care, we’ll make sure you have everything you need to protect your smile over your lifetime. No matter how long it’s been since your last appointment, we look forward to making your preventive care easy!
- X-raysPeriodically, dental X-rays are used to safely and accurately detect hidden dental problems and complete an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. We use the latest digital technology with extremely low exposure to radiation. Your digital images can be instantly viewed on a monitor and enlarged, allowing us to easily see certain problems and show them to you.
- Teeth CleaningStart great dental habits at a young age! Twice a year dental checkups and dental cleanings should be part of your child’s regular health care.
- Fluoride TreatmentFluoride Treatments: Administered as a pill or applied as a paste, fluoride can protect your tooth enamel and rebuild places where tooth decay has leached minerals away.
- Dental SealantsDental Sealants: Sealants are thin layers of resin that are placed on the pits and fissures and grooves of (usually) molars to prevent decay on these surfaces. Sealants are one of the most effective methods of preventing decays on the surfaces where they are placed. Although it is still a possibility that decay may happen on surfaces in between the teeth, sealants significantly reduce the overall chance of having cavities.
- Fillings
- Resin CompositeComposite Fillings: When your child has a cavity, our dentist will gently remove the decayed enamel, clean the surface, and apply tooth-colored composite resin to the surface of the tooth. This composite material hardens for a few seconds when exposed to a special UV light. At that point, the tooth is protected and strengthened so you child can continue eating, speaking and smiling with confidence. Because dental cavities grow if they are not treated and can become painful, we urge you to maintain regular dental visits and report any signs of decay between regularly scheduled visits. Just like you, we want to help your child have a disease-free and comfortable mouth.
- VeneersPorcelain veneers can be used to cover chips, stained or discolored teeth, close gaps and even fix mildly crooked teeth. With today’s products, very minimal tooth preparation is involved. Learn More
- CrownsParticularly bad infections may require more than one visit to alleviate, and the addition of the crown may add another appointment to finish the procedure.
- BridgesThe dentist will be looking for signs of gum disease, dental decay, cracks in your enamel, wear patterns on teeth, and the status of your dental restorations (fillings, crowns, bridges, dentures, implant crowns and bridges, and/or composite bonding). You will have time to ask questions, see problem areas in your mouth, and discuss cosmetic concerns you may have about your smile. If the dentist determines your oral health will benefit from treatment, keep in mind that the dentist has your well-being in mind, and that the recommended treatment will prevent the need for more extensive intervention later on. If you need treatment, the reasons and options will be fully explained.
