Founded in 1995, Autoimmune Technologies core products are based on proprietary technologies it has licensed from Tulane University Medical School. Patents covering most of its products have already been awarded in the United States. Autoimmune Technologies is developing a blood test to aid in the diagnosis of fibromyalgia, a blood test to aid in the diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus, Sj gren's syndrome, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, Grave's disease and a blood test to detect the presence of the proviral DNA of an inherited retrovirus that appears to be associated with most cases of breast cancer. The company is also working on Gulf War Syndrome and other disorders. In 2005, the company was chosen to develop diagnostic tests for Lassa Fever and other hemorrhagic fevers in a government/industry partnership funded by a $3.8 million grant awarded by the National Institutes of Health. Autoimmune Technologies is headquartered in New Orleans.
