These people should be ashamed of themselves! I guess now I know why their prices aren’t posted in plain view. I just picked up 10 pieces I needed cleaned after a cruise: 2 men’s pants, 3 dress shirts, 1 ladies top, & 4 dresses. $95. The dress that has a few beads along the top I had to sign a release for in case anything happened to it the cleaners wouldn’t be responsible THEN I was charged $29 to clean it. A single dress!!!! I asked the sales lady what the per piece prices are. She said men’s shirts START at $5.85 each. Pants are $5.95 each. Plain dresses START at $11.49 each. Anything silk or rayon that has to be dry cleaned (at the dry cleaners, go figure) add another $1.85 more per piece.

I asked what these people are even thinking charging such ridiculous prices and the response absolutely floored me: “They tell us there’s no competition here so we can charge what we want.”

This is insane. When we lived here 5 years ago I don’t recall EVER paying this much for dry cleaning.

In case you don’t know, at a normal, good quality dry cleaners a men’s shirt costs $1.99 each and there’s NO upcharge for if it has to be dry cleaned vs. laundered. The dress that cost me $29 today has never cost me more than $15 and that was onboard a cruise ship with same day service.

A reputable dry cleaner doesn’t rape their customers because they can...and typically anything dropped before 8 am is ready for pickup after 5 the same day without a surcharge. That’s STANDARD.

Munro’s is not an industry standard and, frankly, should be ashamed.

When I need my dry cleaning done again I’ll go elsewhere. If you like paying more than double for less than standard service, Munro’s will gladly take your money. Because they can.
