They have a very slow response time to emergencies even when contacted directly by the fire department. It is extremely unfortunate that they are the only service provider for the area. They lack concern for their paying customer's safety.

Xcel energy is the worst company I have ever encountered. Xcel charges you for the electricity and gas that you use and then doubles the bill with obnoxious "Adjustment" fees and taxes. Taxes, I understand, but is it really necessary to charge DOUBLE from your original bill? I have never experienced this with another electric company. Xcel energy is a monopoly that is taking over the state of Colorado (I don't know much about the electric companies in other states), which I'm pretty sure is illegal. If there is a different electric company to use, take advantage of it. Xcel energy will take advantage of you in every way possible. When your electric bill is only $50, you should not be paying $100. This company is absurd. If possible, I would give this company zero stars, but one is the minimum that I can put.
