Took my father to the masters for the Sunday round as an early, and once in a lifetime experience. We wanted to get there on Saturday to soak in the atmosphere so I booked us both a package at the 1018 club to be able to hang around others interested in the tournament. All I can say is it exceeded all my expectations. I was nervous at the extra cost of this but do not worry, it is worth every penny. The very friendly owner, Steve, has an amazing place. The food and drink are all top notch and top shelf. We ate three meals there and drank all day. They even have a pitstop between their place and the gate to pick up beers or water going to and from the course, which is very close to their location. We had no tickets for Saturday but they actually have a ticket agency on site. They helped us get into the Saturday round late in the day for a reasonable amount. We were in just in time able to see Phil s Saturday charge! The club is very comfortable, TV s everywhere, probably the largest outdoor deck and bar that I have ever seen that wraps all around the building along with indoor seating. There was two masseuses that came in the afternoon for complementary massage as well. Its advertised as a place to come and go from the tournament but to be honest, my father and I were fine hanging out there all day had it come to it. It made the trip much more of an experience than watching the golf from a chain type sports bar. Also, its true what they say, Augusta national is off just your average road, there is not much else around to go and be comfortable staying all day at. In terms of the other clubs, we didn t get a chance to go into any but the Magnolia club is just below Club 1018 and is visible from the bar area. Club 1018 definitely had a more relaxed country club grill room type atmosphere. The magnolia club seemed more stuffy, just from afar. 1018 Club was about the golf if you will, plenty of TV s with the coverage on and audible where as the Magnolia club had bands, less TV s and more of a cocktail party atmosphere. Our experience on Sunday was truly amazing but my Dad and Ieft Augusta really liking our Saturday there at 1018 club almost as much. It gave us a sense we may be able to come back and do it again someday (after saving some more coin) and that we had kind of a home base to hang at.
