Overall: The liner looks nice with a few flaws, some of the work was great, some not so great, some requests ignored and no guarantees. I would consider using a store front contractor as he has more to lose with a dissatisfied customer over someone who works from home, especially if the quote differences is a mere couple hundred dollars.

I am an avid blogger for positive and negative reviews, so I will provide a Bottom line up front review and a detailed explanation of the review. BLUF: Tom completed my liner install, bottom repair, light and sand filter rebuild time effectively. However, there were details that were overlooked leaving me slightly dissatisfied for the amount paid. Total Job cost: $3500 (Pool liner $2800, Pool light $350, Pool sand filter $350) Story: I had a pool that was neglected for two years while I was deployed to Afghanistan. Upon return I needed to replace the liner, have repairs done to the bottom of the pool due to ground water seeping in under the liner, have the light replaced and Have the sand filter and internal components replaced. I called four Pool companies in the area. One never responded (Disqualified), one responded but the sales man was very pushy and stated that if I didnt book their company now, I wouldnt be able to have the work done by summer (They were just so busy, Disqualified). One pool company came out and provided a reasonable quote, but wouldnt put it in writing. When I insisted, they provided a quote, with additional hidden labor charges to the amount of $400.00 (Disqualified). Tom responded quickly and stuck to his quote numbers. He was also a vet, which I give higher priority too. Hence I went with Toms pool service. Tom showed up on time to drain the pool one afternoon, hooked up the pump, and began the process. My pool had an easy place to drain the water into a nearby creek, no issues. Tom asked me to cut the liner if the liner floated when the water levels got below the pump level, this was not an issue and allowed the ground water to surface and get pumped away. I explained my issues with the light and how the cord was too short to reach the pool deck, we talked about solutions and how the cord should be extended with the new housing to enable proper bulb replacement. A few days passed and I came home to Tom installing my liner, I was pretty happy. The liner looked great and they seemed to be chugging along one the install. Perfect! He started to fill the pool, and as I could tell all was well. The Liner: Professionally installed, looks perfect, no abnormal gaps, its fairly centered. Overall, happy with the finished product. 5 of 5 stars. The bottom repair: After getting in the pool and snorkeling around looking at the bottom the repair was fairly good. The side that needed the most repair still had a place that was devoted in the base, and in three sections of the bottom there are rocks clearly under the liner showing a visible bump under the liner. Does this cause a threat of compromise to the liner, I am unsure. I can tell you that the bump is not pleasant on the feet as you walk over it. 3 of 5 stars The Light Replacement: The light and housing was replaced, when asked if the cord extension was added for easy light replacement I was told no it was too short. This was an issue Tom was paid to fix and failed, I explained from the get go that the line was short and was assured it would be extended. However, at the point we had this conversation the pool level was filled past the light. When I asked how I was to exchange the light if it went out, he stated drain the pool down, exactly what I was trying to avoid. 1 of 5 stars Pool Filter Rebuild: Tom bought a new internal piece with new fingers and tube. Extracted the old sand, removed the old tube and fingers and replaced it with the new tube, centered and filled with new sand. I had my reservations, because he was using play sand from home depot or lowes. However, I let him finish the work and pressed on to other tasks. The pool filter operated properly, but was shooting sand out of the pool jets. I tried to contact him, with no response. The next day I tried again, and he sent a text saying put the filter on recirculate for a few days. I did this and the sand slowed, but when I placed it on filter again, same result.
