Contractor said he could complete the work in 1 day. labor cost was $300. Another $150 for materials was added late the first day. Time to complete was changed to two days upon seeing the job. Upon being informed the work needed to be completed not later than the third day, the contractor informed me that he would be bringing in a second person to help him. The third day ended and the work was not complete. I informed the contractor that the work was over...complete or not. It was at this point that he said the payment due was an additional $550. Contractor constantly arrived onsite late (often hours), but wanted to be paid for a "full-day's" work. The contractor seemed to make things up as the situation progressed, and spent as much time engaging in conversation as actually working. On the second day, he arrived at the worksite without a shirt, and worked the job (shirtless) the entire day. The second day the contractor was supposed to be on site at 10:00AM, but did not arrive until 12:20PM, and did not call to notify he'd be late until almost 11:00AM. This contractor is NOT professional, with no written contract and more than doubling the initial price quoted to the client. During the dispute, the contractor became loud and almost violent - yelling racial epithets as he departed the work-site. Be careful hiring this contractor.
