      General Info
      New England Truck and Auto Shine Inc began in 1993. Originally, the scope of the business was to clean new and used trucks sold by my father. The scope over the last 9 years has undoubtedly increased to encompass much more. Our first vehicle was a 1987 Caprice Classic wagon and most of our equipment was purchased through the Home Depot. Our customer base consisted primarily of my father's friends and business associates. This business of cleaning trucks only kept us busy during the spring, summer, and fall seasons, therefore, in the winter, the demand for our services ceased. So that revenue would continue, we purchased a plow truck and proceeded to plow. The following year, we expanded and started to do business with heavy duty body shops., We also bought another plow truck and signed contracts with customers such as Burger King, Cumberland Farms, and various trucking companies. In 1995-1996 we had record snowfall and often plowed 48 hours straight. In the spring of 1996, we started doing business for Ryder Truck Rental, cleaning interiors and buffing the cabs of rented trucks. Often times, when we would arrive to do work, the trucks would be at body shops having decals removed from the vehicles. We realized that if we could remove the decals, there would always be a ready supply of vehicles for us to work on. At first, it was a slow and tedious process that eventually, through trial and error and different techniques, became quite proficient. Removing the decals and removing the image left behind was no longer a painstaking process. We became better than the body shops and truck companies now started to come to us to remove the decals. Ryder started to realize what an asset New England Truck and Auto Shine had become because we did a better job than the body shops, we were much faster than other companies, and because our mobility allowed us to adhere to the companies needs. We started doing work for Ryder all over New England and have currently expanded to operations in the Carolina 's, New Jersey, Tennessee, Michigan, Ohio In 1998, our reputation began to spread and we started to hire more employees and purchase more equipment. We could no longer operate in a small garage, therefore we rented our first office space and garage. That summer, we began negotiations to purchase P.J. Powell's Sign and Truck Company because we felt we would be more competitive if we could offer both removal and application of graphics. The combination of these two companies has allowed New England Truck and Auto Shine to expand into many other areas such as corporate image management and fleet changeovers. In 2000, we outgrew our old facility and leased new space in Woonsocket, RI. Business has since grown tremendously; we currently employ 22 people, have 13 vehicles in our fleet, and have moved into a larger office and garage in Pawtucket RI. We are now the industry leader in decal removal, and are full graphic capabilities are quickly gaining the praise of companies we have worked for. In June of 2004 we moved yet again to what we see as the permanent home of NETAS located @ 125 Industrial Drive in North Smithfield, Rhode Island. Located right off of Rt. 146 it offers easy access to just about anywhere in the area being only a few minutes from I-95 and I' 90 ( mass turnpike ) This State of the art facility consists of six 80 ft drive through bays ( 3 of which are occupied by Truck Solutions sales and service L.L.C., a fast growing Hino truck dealership and truck repair shop ), radiant floor heating, and also a masonry building that houses the offices for both NETAS ( 2 nd floor ) and Truck Solutions ( 1 st Floor ). The advantages we gain with the new facility are countless, it enables us to work on both applications and removals 12 months a year regardless of the weather conditions which were always an issue at locations we occupied in the past.
