Domestic Violence is a service offered by the Family Service of the Piedmont, which is one of the largest, private nonprofit agencies that serve children and families. Domestic Violence supports the Domestic Violence Intervention Program (DVIP), which is a group psychoeducational treatment for men who abuse their partners. The program is comprised of more than 30 training and weekly and group sessions, orientations and individual assessments. The Domestic Violence Intervention Program (DVIP) includes developing an economic partnership, developing respect for his partner and exhibiting trust and support. The Family Service of the Piedmont offers individual, family and group counseling for children and adults with issues related to depression, anxiety, marital problems, grief and trauma. The organization maintains a location in Greensboro, N.C.
