I too am being harassed by this company. At the number they left, and extremely rude lady named Kathy told me about the company was trying to collect on a bad check that I had written. I admitted to the bad check, but the merchant and I had already worked things out and I paid for the check and for the merchants returned check fees. When I explained this to Kathy, and even faxed her proof of payment from the merchant, she demanded that I still pay the collection company or she would send the unpaid balance through to be posted to my credit report! Wth? Why would I pay twice? I went to my merchant store and had her call kathy, and kathy proceeded tothe demand payment from the merchant for collection fees! What collection? Their company didn't collect anything! Like I stated earlier, the merchant and I had already worked things out! This company is a scam and I'm in the process of suing them! SCAM ARTISTS!!!!!

Worst company ever!!!! Beware. After not collecting any money for our company and harassing our clients we decided to drop them. They are not a reputable company and now i am fighting them in court. If your using them, Good Luck

I am a business owner who also has not been paid by C.C.E on checks collected and I cannot believe they have the audacity to rebut the comments made accusing the check writers as Violating California Law! If you knew anything about the Law you would know you must prove intent to violate the law, most of my good customers you have dealt with made an honest mistake and as the Business owner who contracted with you, I am embarrassed and appalled that you have treated my customers so rudely! As a former Law Enforcement Officer in the State of California I believe it is C.C.E that has violated the Law by not paying money collected back to the businesses they represent, I believe it is called Embezzlement and could be punishable with fines and prison terms! This in no way is the end, we will be seeking Legal Action against C.C.E, not just for monies owed but for the blatant disrespect to my friends and customers! Any good business knows you better results with kindness than being rude.

Wow! These people left a message on my machine,but didn't say who they wanted(I get wrong numbers all the time)when I called back,with the case number,they wanted my name! I said..who are you calling and I will let you know if this is the right number! Boy did that set the lady off,she was extremely rude,so I got rude back.I asked her why she didn't know the names of the people she was calling (she had the "case" #)?..She put me on hold,came back and started rattling off all of these first names,asking if I knew any of them.I didn't! THEN she asked my phone number.I gave it to her and she INSISTED that that wasn't the phone number they called..I laughed and said..hmm..I get a message on my machine from you,but you never called it? She told me I was having a bad day and hung up on me! This woman was rude from the start. Didn't allow questions without flipping out and she insisted that the message on the machine stated who they were calling,it didn't! I'm saving it for proof. MEAN PEEPS

Due to an error at my bank, a check was returned. They called us and left a message that they were following up on a complaint that had been filed against us. My husband called and ended up giving them a credit card number. The next day, they sent the check back thru the bank and it cleared. When I tried to get my money back, the lady that answered the phone got extremely irate and hung up on me (she hung up twice more when I tried to call back). I had my husband call her and she told him that she tried to calmly explain the process to me and I had become irate with her. She said as soon as she got notice that the money was in their account, she would refund the charges - it has now been over a month. We later found out from the original business that they no longer work with them because they can't get their money from them either. If you get a call from them, go to the business you wrote the check to and try to work it out with them.

so everyone hates collection companies, i know i do. i was young, and royally screwed mine up. i've been contacting companies to pay off past debts on my own, because i want to clean up the credit. every company i have dealt with including Checks Collected has been legit yet EVERY time i look up ANY of them, IDIOTS like the others leave "SCAM" reviews. own up to your past debt people. whether you plan on paying it or not, it's still yours. it's still YOUR fault these LEGIT companies are contacting you. i had pleasant experience with Checks Collected.

This is the rudest most unprofessional business I have EVER encountered. They keep on calling my home looking for someone who I do not even know, when I have asked them politely to take my phone number off their list. They have been rude to me and are harassing my family, and if they do not stop we will take legal action. We have started recording their phone calls to us, because we will not tolerate this anymore. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves, and as small business owners with many connections in our community, you can be sure that we will do everything in our power to keep you from getting business in Northern California.
