Founded in 1974, The Burke Center is a nonprofit organization that offers behavioral health services to more than 5,000 individuals every year. It also provides comprehensive mental health, early childhood intervention and substance abuse services. Additionally, the organization offers psychiatric disorder diagnosis, mental health evaluation and long-term treatment services. It offers vocational and on-job training programs that include work skills enhancement and office requirement and condition analysis, as well as assistance with employment seeking and retaining. The organization also provides disease management, independent living and emergency services. It offers chemical dependency education and group counseling services, as well as relapse prevention and addiction recovery programs. The Burke Center is headquartered in Lufkin, Texas, and maintains one of its facilities in Nacogdoches, Texas.
