If you like a "bait and switch" and "extortion" this is where you need to have all of your mechanical needs met. After receiving a verbal quote from the owner for the labor, the amount "increased" an additional $200 within three days. We verbally agreed with the owner to change out a heater core that was bad while they had the motor out. The owner verbally told us "if there is anything else you need done while the motor is out - we'll take care of it, just bring the part(s)". This was discussed more than once with the owner and in front of witnesses to verify the labor included changing out the heater core. After paying $1,300 for labor, which was more than we were quoted, the mechanic stated when the vehicle was picked up that he did not install the heater core at the direction of the owner and then we were told it would be an ADDITIONAL $250 to install it. We didn't receive an itemized breakdown of the labor, the reciept for the new motor but did get a tow bill for $3,596.00.
