Tech Spec Home Inspection Service was established in April 2001 to serve Champaign County and the surrounding areas with a commitment to honesty, integrity, and professionalism. Rather than aiming to be the largest inspection firm, our focus has always been on being the most thorough and technically precise. We take pride in our attention to detail and genuine concern for our clients and their potential investments. Our inspection process includes three phases: a pre-inspection discussion to review what will and won’t be inspected, go over the inspection agreement, and address any specific client concerns; the inspection itself; and a post-inspection overview of the printed report. Clients are welcome to attend the entire process or just the final review. If you’re unable to be present, the report—complete with maintenance tips and digital photos—is emailed the same day, and I’m available for follow-up questions or consultation. To maintain high standards, we implemented a quality review program in 2005. My wife and I randomly review 10% of inspection reports and survey results each month to check for accuracy and gather feedback for improvement. I also continue my education annually through ASHI training, peer discussions, online courses, and industry literature. Using advanced software, I deliver clear, concise reports that include detailed photos and can accommodate remote visual walk-throughs if needed.

Troy did a thorough job inspecting our first home purchase. It was a newer house and he still had recommendations for repairs. The report was easy to understand. He was available on a Saturday for us and answered calls and questions promptly. The only reason we knocked a star off was because he wasn't as familiar with building codes as we would have liked, but we'd say his knowledge was probably average to above average in that area. He was pleasant, professional, and did a thorough job. In the end, that's what's important!
