Provided by YP.comThis may be a long post but it is well deserved. About two weeks prior to Tuesday my dog started showing signs of either diabetes or a UTI. On Monday Oct 3rd he started throwing up and not eating. I just figured it was a stomach bug and if it wasn't better by the next day we would figure something out. The next day I woke up and had seen that my poor baby was VERY sick. We took him into the office and was seen right away. Within the next 20 mins we had done test results and found out our baby was diabetic and was suffering from pancreatitis. They started an IV right away, gave him an antibiotic, nausea medicine and insulin. His blood sugar was so high that the machine couldn't read it. The next day he was dropped off from 7am-5pm to get fluids and to be monitored. When we arrived to pick him up Dr Lewis gave us the run down. Cosmo's sugar would go down and then sky rocket back up. His insulin wasn't responding with his body. Not knowing what to do they had everyone working search for a solution for him. Dr Wetta and Dr Lewis saved my dogs live. Dr Wetta went on her day off and searched for the insulin she uses just so Cosmo doesn't go into a coma. She brought it to him and they administered him a dose. His sugar was 309 when I got him home that night. Cosmo has a very long road to becoming healthy again. But those two women saved his life. When I dropped him off last week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday the lady's in the front take him so gently from me and care for him in the best way. Thank you so much for saving my baby! They all went above and beyond to find him insulin. Above and beyond to treating him. Thank you all ladies. Cosmo says thank you too!

Provided by YP.comAcademy is fabulous! I have been a regular customer for several years now, and haven't had any bad experiences. The staff is very welcoming and nice. I tried other veterinary clinics before, only to feel like they didn't care about my furbaby. That is what lead me to Academy. After our first visit, I knew we finally found the right place.

Provided by YP.comTo everyone spewing hate on the basis of a one-sided and self-serving FB post, have you thought, even for a second, that there might be critical facts and details missing? Like that the only doctor there was in the middle of surgery? That the poster refused to sign a consent form authorizing treatment? For an account from another client who was present, search the Jacksonville Daily News website with the clinic name.

Provided by DexKnowsSo it came down to money? Very sad. But I'm sure you know the post about refusing treatment for the badly hurt dog has went viral and so many of us animal lovers are horrified that a Veternarian would not treat a dying dog until cash was paid. This man rescued him and brought to you for help. I'm very glad you never went into human medicine...
I hope all your regular customers find out about this and find a vet that has a heart... Instead of just a wallet.

Provided by DexKnowsYour facility should be closed, how can you allow this poor baby to suffer. Karma is a bitch. God will make u suffer in the end

Provided by DexKnowsI was shocked when I read the post where you denied this poor dog. I would never bring my animal to you nor trust you with one. Money is the root of al evil.

Provided by DexKnowsYou guys are pieces of shit I hope one of yall need help and the hospital denies you

Provided by DexKnowsWords will not describe the emotions that this story has created in me as well as many. Did not even have the decency to ease his pain. Your entire staff should be stripped of any veterinarian license your office possess. I hope your business suffers on this account as it should. I would travel any amount miles outta my way to see a vet that gave a shit about my dogs then come to a place that would worry about money first over life.

Provided by DexKnowsSo unethical. This place should be closed down already, they have already deniyed a bleeding dog help, may she rest in peace. Please don't wait for anymore of these things to happen, don't support this place that by the looks of it only wants money. Please!!
08/05/16
Provided by DexKnowsYou refused to help a bleeding dying dog!! I hope the board shuts you down. Any involved needs to be fired with licenses taken! You all are animal hating pieces of crap!!

Provided by DexKnowsDying dog in severe pain left bleeding to death by this veterinarian. The Principles of Veterinary Medical Ethics of the AVMA state in section 7 paragraph B:
In emergencies, veterinarians have an ethical responsibility to provide essential services for animals when necessary to save life or relieve suffering, subsequent to client agreement (or until such agreement can be obtained when no client is present). Such emergency care may be limited to euthanasia to relieve suffering, or to stabilization of the patient for transport to another source of animal care.

Provided by DexKnowsFirst thing I want to say is that your employees are horrible, uncaring and unsympathetic people. I understand that animal hospitals require money to run...but money should not come before an injured or dying animal. You work in a HOSPITAL! You're first priority should be saving lives...not making a profit. I really hope someone of a higher authority comes in and shuts you down, or at least people quit coming to your "hospital" and you end up ran into the ground. Shame on all of you who are heartless enough to sit there and watch a bleeding dog just because you weren't getting any money out of the deal.
08/04/16
Provided by DexKnowsTo deNY service to anyone based on affordability is despicable. These people should quit practicing medicine. They don't even deserve 1 star.
08/04/16
Provided by DexKnowsHeartless to turn away a bleeding dog in pain. Shame on you!!
08/03/16
Provided by DexKnowsIf I could give you ZERO stars I would! How dare you leave an animal in that kind of pain and do NOTHING. You should be ashamed. All of you. You may sleep well tonight but by tomorrow your business will be ruined. Serves you right. With a conscious like that you should go into politics you money grubbing heartless ass.
08/03/16
Provided by DexKnowsThis place should be shut down for refusing treatment to an injured animal. Please go else where for the care of your pets and let this place die like they did to that poor dog!
08/03/16
Provided by DexKnowsGet out of the business if your not there to help the poor animals. Piece of crap business.
