- Orthopedic SurgeryNeuromodulators are bacteria-derived toxins (botulism toxin) used to weaken and or paralyze facial muscles. They not only treat wrinkles, they prevent them. The most well-known neuromodulator is Botox. Originally used to reduce muscle rigidity in orthopedic surgery and to calm overactive muscles in Cerebal Palsy patients, Botox has become the most commonly performed cosmetic procedure worldwide. Retief Skin Center uses both Botox and Dysport, and you can expect to start seeing results from these injectables in three to four days.
- Mohs SurgeryMohs surgery takes place in an outpatient setting under local anesthesia. Clients are asked to wait between the removal of the layers while Dr. Retief processes and reads the histology slides.

- BotoxFine lines and wrinkles in the upper face or the forehead, between the eyebrows (glabella), and along the sides of the eyes ("crow’s feet") are caused by repeated facial expression and best prevented and treated with Botox if the wrinkles are present without animation. If the wrinkles exist at rest, then sometimes additional treatments are necessary such as using fillers or other laser treatments.
- Brow LiftBlepharoplasties do not actually lift the eyebrows, nor do they tighten droopy eyebrows. Droopy eyebrows can lead to loose, redundant skin of the upper eyelids, so it is pertinent to establish whether the eyebrows are the issue or the upper eyelid skin is primarily the issue. For clients who are experiencing eyebrow droop, we recommend an brow lift.
- LiposuctionL iposuction is the most popular form of fat reduction in the United States. For those who fear surgery, have contraindications to surgery, or only have a small focus of fat to treat, there are other treatment options available. Whereas liposuction can remove large volumes of fat and produce dramatic changes, non-surgical fat reduction is used for mild reduction in fat and should be used for sculpting only.

- Face LiftO ne of the most common signs of aging is fine lines and wrinkles. They can be caused by repeated facial movements, sun damage, or loose skin. Treatment options for facial wrinkles and fine lines depends on the location of wrinkles on the face, how deep the wrinkles are, and the cause of the wrinkles. For example, the radiating smiles lines and folds found between the mouth and the ear along the lower cheek are caused from skin laxity. If these lines are fine, they can be improved with ablative laser treatments like the Encore CO2 Fractional laser or by the Erbium laser. If they are deep, a facelift is required to pull out the laxity of the skin.
- BlepharoplastyA n eyelid lift, or upper blepharoplasty, is a surgical procedure to correct dermatochalasis—or droopy eyelids. This loose, excess skin on the upper eyelids occurs with aging and is performed for cosmetic reasons only.

- Body ContouringBTL Exilis Elite is monopolar radiofrequency (RF) technology that destroys fat cells and tightens the skin. This body contouring procedure isn't a replacement for liposuction or weight loss--it is used for the that little bit of stubborn extra fat that just wont go away. It is also a temporary treatment for cellulite. Four treatments will produce a year of cellulite-free legs. As with any device aimed at destroying fat cells, this device cannot separate fat cell destruction from skin tightening. Common areas treated are the neck, abdomen, love handles, lower back and waist, saddle bags, and upper thighs.
- Laser Resurfacing
- MolesSurgical treatments can involve shaving or snipping the problem area with a surgical scalpel or scissor, destroying it with a cold spray of liquid nitrogen, or by harnessing power of laser light beams to remove layers of the skin. - Skin CancerSRT may not be recommended for younger patients because of the possibility of the development of future skin cancers in the treated area. These cancers though rare may appear 30-40 years after receiving SRT in the irradiated site only. The radiation only penetrates 5mm into the skin, and the area around the skin cancer is protected with a custom shield. This ensures that the radiation does not affect any other part of your body.
