      The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency that enforces ordinances, safeguards citizens rights, and preserves peace, order and safety. It maintains a citizens police academy that organizes a variety of community, youth and neighborhood watch programs. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department provides online crime statistics and maps, as well as crime reporting applications. The department supports the Victim Intervention Program (VIP), which provides free mental health services and criminal justice system advocacy to individuals and families of the community who are affected by violent crimes. Located in Nashville, Tenn., the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department maintains administrative, field operations and investigative service divisions.
