      The Jackson County Health Department provides a range of public health services for residents of Jackson County, Ill. Its services include genetic, blood lead, and vision and hearing screenings and also offers various diagnostic services. Additionally, it offers a case management program for low-income pregnant women, infants and their families. The Jackson County Health Department also offers breastfeeding and baby care basic classes and counseling on sexually transmitted infections. It provides several women health services, such as pregnancy testing, and cervical, breast and colorectal cancer screenings. In addition, the department specializes in testing and treatment of gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis and herpes. It also provides presentations and educational materials on violence and teen pregnancy prevention and smoking cessation. The Jackson County Health Department is located in Murphysboro, Ill.
