MATR, Inc., is a private, non-profit corporation focused on assisting individuals addicted to drugs, alcohol and/or human behaviors, which cause a less than successful life experience, to understand themselves and to gain tools for healing. We also frequently work with individuals experiencing co-existing diagnosis. MATR strives to remain appraised of the most current and effective methods of holistic treatment available. It is MATR’s intent to provide the best professionally, clinically, and morally sound modalities for healing possible to assist troubled clients and their families in improving their quality of life. Addiction and mental health dis-orders have a tendency to create chaos in lives. MATR teaches that whenever a problem exists, the answer can be found within the individual involved. Therefore, MATR works to, first of all, assist each client to believe that "there is hope" and then teach each client the skills to discover themself and thereafter, the answers which lie within. MATR, Inc. strives to maintain a sense of individuality with each client and staff member to facilitate an atmosphere that embraces a healing environment in which each person is taught to honor self and others, a milieu where expectations for change and growth weave a tapestry of health from without to within. MATR’s philosophy dictates that each client is considered to have the potential to savor heightened joy, confident self worth, and undeniable self control. MATR seeks to provide clients with enhanced ability to apply mastered skills of self-sufficiency, emotional well being, and sufficient social expertise to provide expanded opportunity to experience security through his/her own self actualization. MATR works with local communities and families in pursuing resolution to the vital concerns experienced in communities where MATR clients reside. MATR’s mission is holistic change.

This naturally leads to Confirmation Bias and Self Justification. As we act with Confirmation Bias and Self Justification, we unwittingly continue our incongruency which leads to greater cognitive dissonance and therefore greater dis-satisfaction in our lives. MATR works to help individuals recognize their dissonance and thereafter, make the necessary changes in order to experience greater health.
