I left my Rotti with Big Basin, the owner was friendly and knowledgeable, the staff person walked into the office, he didn't acknowledge me, and walked out, he must've been busy. While filling out the paper work I asked if I could see where my dog would be kept. The owner said he was busy and hand many things to do. I guess the look on my face spoke to him, he proceeded show me where my dog would be kept, it didn't seem to be climate controlled but my Rot has lots of fur. It was clean, well kept, all business. Not a problem. I asked if my dog would have interaction with other dogs, he said "no" still no problem. I asked if the boarders are exercised he said not unless an extra fee is paid, still no problem $25 extra for 3 walks, my dog was staying for a week. All of that being said here's my problem, I got my dog back today at around 10am, got her home about noon, she took to her bed and hasn't move since and I wonder what happened to her. I've had to nudge her to get up to eat dinner, go outside for a walk, go for a ride in the car. She just seems different, she's been boarded before and she's never acted like this after she has come home. I won't be using them anymore.

Excellent! Boarding kennel. The owners are very "hands-on" involved, experienced & professional. The staff are friendly and give lots of love - it shows up in how happy & relaxed my dogs are with them. My dogs love Big Basin!

I have done business with Big Basin Kennels both training and boarding for 8 years and they are the best. I have German Shepherds and we were having a problem with the male. Suddenly he didn't want to go for his daily walk and would fight the leash and either my wife or me. The behavior seemed to start as we left the house through the front door. Gary Parks owner of Big Basin Kennels came to our house and conducted 3 training sessions with us and the problem went away. The Owner actually makes house calls. Customer service doesn't get any better than that. As to boarding, the facilities are clean and well kept, meds are given if necessary and the dogs are always ready complete with a bath when you pick them up.
