Established in 1984, Med-South is a health care provider that offers home health care services to patients discharged from hospitals, clinics and other health care institutions. It serves patients throughout Alabama, Mississippi and Florida. The facility provides home medical equipment, including hospital bed and accessories, wheelchairs, scooters, enteral pumps, bedside commodes and raised toilet seats. Med-South also offers ventilators, nebulizers, suction equipment and compressors. Its pharmacy services include unit dose medication. With stores located throughout Alabama and Mississippi, Med-South provides insurance consulting and 24-hour emergency services. The facility additionally offers sleep diagnostic testing services. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Community Health Systems, which is a nonprofit corporation. Med-South maintains one of its locations in Mobile, Ala.
