      Our nation’s infrastructure reflects our shared values as a society. Projects like the Golden Gate Bridge and the Hoover Dam have provided hope and jobs to many people at a critical time in our country’s history. Those projects serve essential functions and have endured as icons that are valued by everyone in this great nation. During the era of mass-expansion in the 1950’s and 1960’s, we created a vast inventory of roads, bridges, airports and dams. At that time, “form-follows-function” was the mantra and the resulting inventory ignored aesthetics and the visual impact on the surrounding environment. Those impacts have only worsened over time. We are now faced with the daunting task of updating and replacing a significant portion of our nation’s infrastructure. This effort will change the fabric of our built environment for the next 100 years and beyond. It will also tell the rest of the world what we value as a society. ​ Touchstone Architecture and Consulting, P. A. is a unique architectural firm specializing in the design of custom homes in the Florida panhandle and signature bridge projects worldwide. Our knowledge of bridge design and construction techniques allows us to create bridge designs that are beautiful, build-able and cost effective. We have developed a reputation for innovative designs that stem from the ideas and input of individual owners and community advocacy groups. Our ability to listen and respond with a design which meets our central goal of customer satisfaction sets Touchstone Architecture apart. In addition to design, we shepherd complex projects through the maze of external design constraints such as interfacing with the Architectural Review Boards, State Historic Preservation Office, National Environmental Protection Agency and Section 106 authorities. We understand how to integrate the desires and requirements of multiple stakeholders while focusing on a cohesive and clear design solution.
