General Info
When Steve Flagg started Quality Bicycle Products in 1981, the one-person operation fit nicely inside a 60-by-20-foot office. His phone did not ring more than twice a day and he brought his dog, Bungie, to work with him for companionship. 21 years later, the company is one of the largest parts and accessories distributors in the cycling industry. Steve and his staff answer more than 25,000 calls a month, he employs more than 200 people and he operates from a newly expanded, 105,000 square foot facility in Bloomington, Minn. The company offers dealers from throughout the world, an encyclopedic selection of bicycle products from a 1,100-page catalog, a renowned custom wheel service, a specialty bike building program and proprietary brands.

Although I have never actually purchased a product from QBP, I would like to comment on a related matter. The owner (Steve Flagg) is quit a tool. He was a board member for a non-profit (Temporary Living Center) in Eden Prairie, MN that helped teenage girls get off of drugs and alcohol. Long story short state funding changes caused this non profit to hit a bit of a financial struggle. Steve Flagg was so busy with other things (business) that instead of stepping down from the board decided to convince other board members that this organization was not worthy of saving. They (Steve and other board members) fired everyone, sent the troubled teens back into their unstable environments and sold the entire company for 1/10 or less of what they could have gotten for it because he "wanted to be done with it". Just food for though before you purchase anything from a company who has a seriously character flawed owner/president.
