As a family who has been with DCLC for almost 5 years, I can with confidence, say that DCLC has been a fantastic experience. The staff are happy and care about the kids. It isn't just a place to drop your kids off during the day. It is a place where they are nurished and will flourish. My son was three months old when we started at DCLC and the staff knew I was a "helicopter mom". They invited me to come with my infant and stay in the room for as many days as I would like! It didn't take long before I realized that they do a great job. Now my son is in preschool and I am thrilled with what he is learning. He did very well on his screening exam and is already reading basic words! One of his teachers is bilingual (spanish and english) and his other preschool teacher has patience beyond what most teachers I have seen. The baby and toddler room are cozy and inviting. The gym is great for long winters! And the fenced in playground is very nice. The building also has secure entrances. Some of the building is older, but the program is modern in every way! It is part of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, but the daycare/preschool is open to all children and is non-denominational. The program is bible based, but not "over the top". My son has learned basic bible concepts and I believe it has helped make him a well rounded individual. I have always said, DCLC is the best kept secret in NE Mpls/Columbia Heights/New Brighton/Fridley area! Go check them out. Don't judge a book by it's cover. This one is a gem!

Both of my children have attended daycare and preschool at DCLC. This center is wonderful. The staff are very caring and devoted to the children. There is very little turn over in staff, which is key for parents when looking for daycare and preschool. The center has secure entrances, a full-sized gym and fenced playground. We found this center when we were looking for infant care four years ago and we have been there ever since! Our children have flourished and we have been very happy. Just last week, the center hosted an art show featuring baby, toddler and preschool art! This is just one example of the many fun family activities the church and daycare/preschool provide. Monthly parent meetings are held and parents are welcome to attend and give input. We are very happy and most importantly, so are our children!

After checking with various in-home daycares and the usual other corporate names, the decision was pretty easy for us to send our infant into DCLC.



We loved the staff right away (experienced, low turnover, CPR trained, happy to be there), the program (baby sign language & Spanish soon) and the facility (big gym, fenced playground).



Rates are about average for the area, and they welcome all kids even though it is a Christian-based program (it is in a Lutheran church but isn't overly "preachy").



The building is getting older, but then again the cost of the building is covered by the church and not the school.



Highly recommend.

This daycare/preschool is the best kept secret in the NE metro. We live in New Brighton, and five years ago were searching desparately for infant care for our daughter. We found DCLC and have had our daughter there ever since! What a wonderful Christian nurturing and stimulating learning environment for our daughter and the other children at David's. The staff is highly committed and stable without the constant turnover you see at other daycares/preschools. The facility, particularly the full sized gym and fenced in playground are not something you will typically find at other centers. The partnership between the church and the daycare staff is exceptional and supportive. My daughter has been exposed to Infant Sign Language and Spanish, and is very ready for kindergarten. The parent and family involvement is high and we will miss this gem tremendously next year when our daughter moves on to kindergarten. HIghly recommend this intimate center for infants, toddlers and preschoolers.

After searching a 5 mile radius, we now send our daughter to DCLC and it is one of the best decisions we have made as parents. The staff is awesome in every way, the program is impressive (baby sign language, Spanish, etc), they are super flexible with hours, and key card access and easy-in-out in morning makes my day. If you are new to the area or just looking for a new day care provider, I would recommend them 100% of the time.
