Mary Rader saved my life...one pound at a time!

I cannot begin to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for all Mary's given me. In September of 2010, I walked into her office at 34 years old and 368lbs. Battling obesity my entire life, I had tried many weight loss plans, including heart-damaging prescription weight-loss drugs, liquid diets, WW, Atkins and every other diet plan in between. I was at my wit's end but knew that if I didn’t commit to losing weight for good, I would die an early death. I was pre-diabetic, my hormones were completely out of whack and I was clinically depressed. Walking into that office, I hoped Mary’s “plan” would be different than all the others…that maybe there was a magic solution to my problem. I quickly realized that her principles were tried and true, the eating plan was based on The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and that Mary’s straight talk, solid advice and proven strategies were all the magic I needed.

Over the past 2.5 years, I’ve lost just under 200 pounds…no drugs, no surgery and no quick fix schemes. I am absolutely positive that Mary Rader’s guidance, tough love and common sense approach saved my life. I am no longer depressed, pre-diabetic or limited by my size-related health issues. My health stats and blood work are consistently above average and my BMI has gone down from 57 to 27. I am a different person than I was three years ago and while talk therapy, physical fitness and lifestyle changes played equally large roles in my success, I know Mary provided the solid food and diet strategies that are the foundation for my ever-improving relationship with food and will ensure that I keep the weight off the rest of my (much longer) life.

I found Mary to be very unprofessional in how she conducted business. I waited over a half hour outside her office for my first appointment & ending leaving my second appointment due to not knowing if or even when Mary would show up. She was highly disrespectful of my time & told me that if I would've waited for her we still would've had 45 minutes together (out of the hour I paid her for).

She did refund my money in full per my request, which I appreciated. What I did not find appropriate was that she wrote a letter to me that came with my refund, that insulted me and told me "to relax a little". She even told me what to do with my refund (a.k.a. how to spend my money). The letter was patronizing & insulting.

She was highly unprofessional. I would not recommend her.
