City of Milpitas governs the Milpitas Finance Department. The department's responsibilities include facilitating the preparation of the Budget document, financial planning, fiscal analysis, administration of the Redevelopment Agency and reviewing internal control systems. It also manages the investment and oversight of the city and agency's investment portfolio, processing the city's payroll and accounts payable payments and procuring goods and services for the City, among others. Milpitas Finance Department operates four divisions; administration, accounting services, fiscal services and purchasing division.
