Eastern Montana Community Mental Health was established in 1967. We provide services to 17 Counties. Services should be available to all regardless of ability to pay. Responsible services require the involvement of consumers and their families. Services must reflect a holistic approach that responds to the needs of individuals throughout their lives. Prevention and early intervention are the most efficient health care services. Effective and resource sensitive outcome based health care must include mental health care. Effectiveness as a provider depends on our being a learning and sharing corporation. EMCMHC Board, administration and staff chare in the responsibility of achieving our mission and realizing our vision. Services should be provided in the least restrictive environment, as close to home as possible and as appropriate for the disorder and level of functioning. Outpatient Services Outpatient services are designed to assist the client with problems when hospitalization is not required. Clients receive outpatient services at all seventeen clinical offices to help the client better understand and cope with personal, family or vocational difficulties. This service, by far, the largest of the Center, may be delivered to individuals, families, groups, children or adults, and may include marriage counseling, individual or group therapy, training in community living, occupational therapy, supportive therapy and recreation. Medication Management Eastern Montana Community Mental Health Center believes that appropriate medication can help people with a mental illness, recover and maintain their recovery. The Center employs Advance Practice Nurses with prescription privileges to prescribe and help manage therapeutic medications. Psychiatrists prescribe medications during telemedicine conferences and are oftentimes followed by the advance practice nurses Transitional Care Eastern Montana Community Mental Health Center operates an 11 bed transitional car
