I honestly don't know what the heck "Danflen" is talking about. Rick's place is the cleanest tattoo place EVER! And for him to say NO to a deposit is up surd. The work here is stellar and I've been going to Rick now for YEARS. My tats have held up through everything. If you want a tattoo, go here. Period.

You must be mistaken about the equipment used. Needles are absolutely disposable, and properly disposed of with a licensed hazardous material/sharps disposal company (just like doctors and hospitals). You are welcome to come look at the paperwork and see the procedures. You can also feel free to call the health department as Middlesex county has one of the strictest requirements in the state for licensing and inspections. In the 8 years of being in business, all inspections (including surprise inspections) have passed. You can view that paperwork/certificates at the shop, or you can certainly request them at the health department. This sounds like a very unfortunate misunderstanding.

They do not use disposable equipment here! When I found this out I asked for my deposit back and was told no. I wonder if the board of health is aware of this? Hm

After finding House of 1000 Tattoos on google maps and reading nothing but good reviews, I decided to check them out. Rick was nothing but patient with me as I explained what i wanted. He even took the idea I wanted and blew up the size (though slightly bigger than I had originally planned) and enhanced the small details. Without even telling him what colors I had wanted, he blew me away with insane shading and colors that turned out to be amazing for my skin! Even though it was bigger than I had planned, I don't regret it for a second!! Since that tattoo, I've gone back several times and added to it to complete my rib side. Everytime he took my ideas and made them 20 times better than I could have ever drawn them!! And the coloring and shading have always captured the exact look I wanted! I've gotten a million compliments for my side piece and I recommend checking out House of 1000 Tattoos to anyone looking to get an AMAZING piece. I can honestly say I will not step foot in another tattoo shop to get my work done and I will not let anyone besides Rick tattoo me! I love this shop!

I love this shop. I've been going there for the past 2 years or so and people ask me all th time where I get my ink because it's so clean and colorful. I call Rick the king of color - I think he has the magic formula or something. I've spent a lot of time there and see how they operate. They have great prices, high standards and it's a fun place to hang out. Did I mention how amazing the custom work is... WOW. They can create anything you can imagine and more. House of 1000 Tattoos is DEFINITELY where you want to go. Where to start, the artist/owner Rick is exceptionally talented. I had him cover some old tribal I got 15 years ago - he completely transformed my arm. Yes, you can get a full color tattoo as a cover up, and he is the man to do it! His shop is clean, and professional. I like the atmosphere and decor too. This is where I will go from now on and will recommend it to all my friends. I moved here from Florida not that long ago and started checking out shops. I liked his portfolio and I'm so glad I went there. I really believe he did what others couldn't. I thought I would have to get something large and dark to cover my tribal and I ended up with bright and vibrant color - and you can't see the old tattoo at all. I also thought it would cost a fortune, but his price was very fair and he completed it in one day. He spent a lot of time with me and truly is a man with the highest artistic standards.
