My mother is 88 years old and we were in a very difficult situation with tax and trust issues with regards to paying for her care. Jason, through his network and knowledge of the Elder Law space, connected us with a trust that was able to resolve our issues and turn a difficult situation into a positive outcome.

Jason really saved the day and thanks to his assistance my mother is thriving and doing extremely well today. We have to give him a big thank you for making a tough situation turn out well.

Jason Neufeld is a knowledgeable elder law practitioner whose demeanor is as personable and affable as his vast understanding of the law. It was clear from my first conversation with Jason that he is a lawyer who really cares about his clients; an attorney who's not chasing a buck, but who is pursuit of a justiciable outcome for his clients.

I've dealt with many attorneys in the past, but few can hold a candle to Jason in terms of legal competence and as a person to whom a client is more than just a name on a legal file - but rather a human being worthy of respect and compassion.

I highly recommend Jason for anyone in need of a great elder law attorney. His kindness and legal acuity are an unbeatable combination.

This guy, Jason Neufeld is great! I have confidence he has my best interests at heart, and also that he knows his field. I found him warm and caring and easy to reach by, phone or email. And on top of that, his rates were far better than those of the other attorneys I called.

We take great pride in the work we do in the medicaid-planning arena. Saving our clients sometimes hundreds of thousands of dollars while allowing them to get the best possible long-term care.

DETAILS
General Info
It can be quite the shock when client's families are faced with the prospect of exorbitant long-term care costs. Medicaid planning (also known as incapacity planning) is essentially the process of legally and ethically shifting assets from the status of unprotected protected and/or converting those unprotected assets into an income stream to qualify someone for Medicaid benefits that will greatly assist with the immense costs of long term care and preserving assets for the well spouse / community spouse. Your Medicaid planning attorney will present your Medicaid planning options along with our pros and cons analysis. Our clients are usually excited and relieved after we explain our Medicaid-planning strategies.Medicare (much to the surprise and dismay of many) only covers short term care and a lifetime benefit for a maximum of 100 days for rehab or skilled nursing - triggered by a hospital admission (as opposed to staying under “observation”) for at least three days. The intention is to provide skilled / rehabilitative care (not custodial care) following a stroke, hip replacement, etc…In fact; Medicare only pays the first 20 days in full. For days 21-100, the patient pays a $144.50 per day co-pay. After a patient has used up their 100 days, they will need to pay out of pocket, utilize long-term-care insurance, or qualify for Medicaid’s lesser-known Institutional Care Program. This is where a medicaid-planning attorney helps.
