- MACtown was chartered in 1962 by the state of Florida, and founded by parents and friends of developmentally disabled persons. It offers an adult day training program that offers vocational opportunities to members. Emphasis is placed on vocational education and goals to improve employment skills with eventual placement in supported employment. It also has a care facility that houses more than 50 developmentally disabled adults, where they are taught daily living and social skills necessary for coping in society. It also offers a separate recreation, aerobics and weight training center, and a skill acquisition center that provides a blend of recreational and leisure programming with work opportunities.
