I attended this NextCare clinic about a week ago suffering from a plugged ear. Because I was not claiming the treatment on my insurance and paying for it myself (and told the front desk person such), I asked at the desk how much the procedure would be. I was told it would be $132. I figured that, rather than wait a month or so until I got home, I would have it taken care of for that price. I was attended to by a doctor who confirmed within about 30 seconds that my ear was plugged. Another fellow came in and syringed my ear removing some debris. He looked in my ear and said it was clear. The doctor came back in and confirmed that it was clear, probably another 30 seconds worth of time. I still could not hear but figured my ear was full of water and that it would dry. When I went to the desk to pay, I was told the bill was $352. When I questioned the difference, I was told that $220 was to have a doctor look at me. The person at the desk knew I was from out of the country and that I was paying for the procedure myself. I feel that the information about the $220 was a fairly important piece of critical data to leave out. I paid and left the clinic, still unable to hear out of my ear. After 2 hours at home, I still could not hear and asked my wife to have a look in it. She exclaimed that, with the naked eye, she could see that it was still plugged. She removed one large piece of debris and washed out another slightly smaller piece at which point, I could hear again. I wrote a letter to wecare@nextcare.com explaining the situation and I filled out a survey about the treatment I was given. I was asked, as part of the survey, if I wished a manager to call me. I replied yes. To this date, I have received no communication from NextCare to either my letter or the survey. I attended this clinic on the advice of a friend but I would not recommend anyone else use this facility. Apparently wecare@nextcare.com doesn’t actually care.
Could not provide a wait time nor when you pay by insurance if the insurance will not pay you will pay double the cost as if you were to only to pay their so called discount rate of 114 dollars.,, I will make the drive to California to see my own doctor before ever going to one of these Fastmed Urgent Care centers.
