Look no further

I had been looking all over for a church that my family and I would feel at home since we moved into the area. After going to a few churches in the area we decided to try out Central Valley Baptist Church and we haven't even thought about going anywhere else since. I love the fact that the Bible is taught so well here. We are continuously growing in our relationship with Jesus everyday.

Children are Loved at CVBC

I am so thankful for the Biblical teaching that our children have received at Central Valley Baptist Church. They have learned truths of the Bible, memorized scripture upon scripture, and are learning how to live it out in their daily lives. The church has wonderful, loving teachers who invest their lives in our children week after week. I am thankful these men and women are allowing the Lord to use them in such a special way. I am greatly indebted to these people who are helping us raise our children in a godly way.

You have to ask yourself....

Do you want a church that preaches the Word of God how was intended? Do you want a church that doesn't water down God's plan for your life? Come to CVBC and you'll see why it is such a growing church.

A Great Place to Worship God

I've been at Central Valley for 4 years. This is a delightful place to worship the true & living God. I highly recommend the Sunday services. They also have Sunday School, children's ministry (AWANA), and a number of other really neat programs. You should visit!

Humility - NOT Pride

I understand that your church must be feeling helpless at this time, with some of the members being held in Haiti. I am also a born-again Christian, and I can understand the desire to help the unfortunate children there. After following this story online, I am hoping everything works out in the best way that will honor the Lord. One thing gives me discomfort as I read these articles:The missionaries obviously made a mistake. We understand that much. The required paper-work to make this operation legal was not obtained. Yet I haven't read ANYWHERE a statement of their remorse. Yes, they say they only meant to help and aren't kidnappers, but they are quoting portions of scripture that portray themselves as going through trials not brought about by themselves. It is VERY evident that they DID bring this "trial" on themselves. My one request is that they stop using Biblical quotations that don't apply, but only make them seem like self-righteous fanatics. It never hurts to ackno

"Connecting people to God and His family so we can grow in our faith and serve others in ministry as God's kingdom multiplies."THIS IS ON YOUR WEBSITE AND IT SAYS NOTHING ABOUT DOING GOD'S WORK FOR HIM!!!! IF YOUR FAITH IN THE LORD IS AS STRONG AS YOU CLAIM IT IS, THEN YOU WILL TRUST IN HIM AND KNOW THAT WHAT HAPPENS IS GOD'S WILL AND THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO TO CHANGE IT, AS YOUR 10 CHURCH MEMBERS FOUND OUT THE HARD WAY. GET THEM BACK TO THE USA AND PUT THEM ON THE STREETS TO TALK ABOUT AND EDUCATE PEOPLE THAT ARE LOST ABOUT GOD AND OUR SAVIOR... JESUS CHRIST, THAT IS OUR JOB AS CHRISTIANS, NOT TO KIDNAP THEM AND DO WHAT "WE" WANT OR WHAT WE THINK GOD WOULD WANT DONE WITH THEM. THEN AND ONLY THEN WILL I PUT ANOTHER THOUGHT INTO THESE 10 BEING CHARGED FOR KIDNAPPING, THEY BROKE THE LAW!!!!!!

Thou shall not steal

The judge there has said the kidnappers could receive up to 9 years in a Haiti prison for their crimes. I think this is a little harsh. Eight years is enough. Does Haiti even have a standing prison? Perhaps their first part of the punishment will be to re-build the prison. If the kidnappers cared so much for the kids why didn't they just feed and clothe them there in Haiti, so they could stay with their family and friends. This is a classic case of a prayer group gone nutzo. In a small Baptist church group members pray for earthquake victims in Haiti until one member(Pastor) says, "God spoke to my heart, yes He did. He said, Go ye forth and steal those kids away from their mom and dad---we can double the size of our church in no time. How long oh Lord, how long? The church has gone to the wicked ways of the world.

Judgement

Reverend Henry:Imposing the Baptist religious beliefs on Haitians in the name of God is egregious at best. The idea that Americans always know what is best for others with futile attempts to use the disguise of religion ignores the fundamental belief that God gave man free will. Sending untrained representatives from your church reinforces that Americans may impose their will on others without consequence. While I wish no harm to your members, I do believe that Haitian justice needs to be served. If religious members from other countries, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, the list goes on and on, would have entered the United States after Hurricane Katrina to remove our orphans, what would you expect the outcome to be? I will be calling the U.S. Embassy to laud the efforts of the Haitian government's attempts to protect the children in their country, especially in the face of disaster. I will urge the U.S. to support the Haitian government in efforts to hold your radical Baptist members accou

Haiti children

Church members attempting to retrieve "orphans" in Haiti was not a wise move on this church. I would be weary as to what this church really attempts to teach its masses. One child said she still had family, i hope this group gets investigated with a fine comb.

SO NOW THE PASTOR KNOWS THE CONSTITUTION OF HAITI?

Seems to me he should have read International law first...I hope Haiti makes an example of such arrogance...If it was God's will like they claim....then why are they in Jail? God DOES NOT support these people....True Christians do not break laws!

Morons

All the people involved with this "Christian mission" in Haiti from this church, both in the US and in Haiti are total idiots. None of them could figure that what they were doing was illegal and just dumb. I have a feeling a woman came up with your stupid idea. You should be punished and you need a new pastor, or just burn the church down. In Jesus name.....

Everything about this "Mission's Trip" is deceptive.

Do you have any idea how this taints Christianity as a whole? You aren't a registered orphanage, so you were blatantly lying to the parents. God doesn't call us to do things that circumvent the His law, nor the laws in place in our society. Shame on all of you.

Haitian Adoption Encouragment

I see where you folks are getting ignorant hateful messages...I'm sorry to see you and your members suffer in Haiti like this. I did have an idea to legally and ethically to sharply turn up the pressure on the American embassy to act on your behalf...how about if you draw up a schedule of all your church members, and their families, and schedule a day and time for each person to call the U.S. Embassy in Haiti at 509-2229-8942. What the embassy needs to receive are unending calls concerning the imprisoned Americans! Best Wishes!

Mr Brian

The previous reviewer was right. It is deeply shocking to find Baptists - of all people - traveling to other countries and kidnapping other people's children, no matter what your motivation. As the other reviewer said, how about going into your own poverty stricken ghettos and helping there? You have done great damage to your reputation all over the world.
