The few times our alarm was activated we always got a call without fail but when I would contact the monitoring station they were usually curt and had conflicting information about which "zone" the alarm originated (I would occasionally call back to confirm and would get a whole different zone number.



We have a camera security system and when we reviewed it we noticed a number of times the Sheriff didn't even respond. The first couple of times we thought they were too busy but it wasn't until the third time, after returning from vacation 4 days after the alarm, we found out we had a message on my wife's work phone to: "report the alarm and law enforcement should respond" THEY'D been CALLING the WRONG NUMBER for the Sheriff! Which could explain the other lack of responses.



I contacted the monitoring station asking if they had a record of it they said they only keep records for 48 hours. I contacted Island Security themselves (they contract out the monitoring) and was told that just wasn't true. I expected them to get back to me on what had happened as requested but got nothing.



I would have appreciated any communication from IS about my concerns and expected a call.



Other events: Sheriff came and said there had been a silent alarm. The Sheriff had to enter the home and demand ID etc. We hadn't even been near the touch pads. Now it occurs to us that they sent the Sheriff out to the wrong home most likely.



All and all, these folks are cordial, helpful in installation and sales was very informative on their product. But it comes down to one thing. Will there be response when the alarm goes off? Which at the bottom line is what you pay for.

Great Company. From the start of the call to Island Security, to Island Security finishing the installation everything was handled professionally and exactly as we were told. We were referred by a family member who has used Island Security for a chain of family run businesses as well as their home and vacation cabin. They insisted we use Island Security. before they did business with Island Security they checked out five other companies. They read the reviews for these companies on yellowpages.com and had the sales people come out and talk to them. The national companies used a come on low price and then tried to get them to pay significantly more. The national companies used subcontractors not employees, The national companies failed to point out to my family that if they canceled the monitoring with them they would take the equipment they installed out. This was in the fine print. This meant they did not own it, it was a lease.Island Security explained everything clearly and did what they said. The installers were long term employees of the company. Island Security monitors our system locally. The National companies monitor out of state. The installers for Island Security were neat an when they finished they had cleaned up our house perfectly. We highly recommend this company. Their prices are fair, employees clean and courteous, and the equipment and job quality is the best.
